A bolection is a moulding which projects beyond the face of a panel or frame, which originated in the mid 17th century. This Chimneypiece is based on a Queen Anne design from the turn of the 18th century.
The simple lines work well with its full curves, making it versatile and at home in either a traditional or contemporary setting.
